The lifespan of an HVAC system depends on various factors, including the type of system, how often it is maintained, and how well it is taken care of. However, most HVAC systems last between 10 and 15 years.
We offer a range of HVAC maintenance services, including filter replacement, duct cleaning, coil cleaning, refrigerant level checks, and more. Regular maintenance is essential to keep your HVAC system running efficiently and to prevent breakdowns.
During an HVAC installation, our technicians will assess your space and recommend the best system for your needs. They will then remove the old system, install the new one, and test it to ensure it is functioning properly.
We stand behind our work. Williams Air and Heat provides a standard one year Installation Craftsmanship Guarantee on all new equipment installations.
SEER2, or Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio 2, is the updated metric for measuring the energy efficiency of air conditioners and heat pumps. It replaces the original SEER rating and reflects a new testing procedure designed to more accurately simulate real-world operating conditions, including static pressure differences and higher external temperatures. This means that an HVAC system with a higher SEER2 rating is more energy-efficient, translating to lower energy consumption and reduced utility bills for homeowners. For the Florida region, the current SEER2 minimum for central air conditioning systems below 45,000 BTU/h (3.75 tons) is 15.0 SEER2, and for systems 45,000 BTU/h and above, it is 14.5 SEER2. These standards took effect on January 1, 2023.
Florida Power & Light offers a $150 Rebate on qualifying equipment installed by a licensed Participating Independent Contractor.
Manual J Load Calculations are recommended for determining a home's precise heating and cooling needs. This detailed analysis considers factors such as geographic location, building orientation, insulation quality, window specifications, air infiltration, occupant activity, internal heat sources, and ductwork. The resulting BTU ratings ensure HVAC systems are appropriately sized, preventing issues from oversized or undersized equipment and leading to optimal comfort, energy efficiency, and a healthy indoor environment.
Hurricanes and tropical storms can cause significant damage to HVAC systems. To reduce the risk of injury or property damage, all equipment must be installed in accordance with Florida Building Code requirements. Ensure your outdoor unit is securely anchored to its concrete pad or a strong, stable foundation; condenser pads and straps are rated for hurricane strength winds when properly installed. For units installed in flood-prone areas, consider elevating them on a sturdy platform to prevent water damage.
Component failure as a result of power surges is very common. Protect your system from power surges with an A/C surge protector.
Don't let hurricane season power outages disrupt your comfort. A compressor start assist allows you to run your A/C with a generator during power outages.
